About Us
A brief history
We are proud to announce the introduction to Europe of the revolutionary and innovative Golf AutoScore automated scorecard scoring system.
Golf AutoScore automated scorecard system began development in 2000 in New Zealand, when four Wellington blokes worked out how to usefully apply a little data processing on to the golf greens in a way that met approval from the world golf administrators. What Golf AutoScore automated scorecard system does is get golf scoring automated in a way that marries new technology with the existing rules of golf.
Golfers are used to filling out score cards and handing them in at the pro-shop or clubhouse. The Golf AutoScore automated scorecard system has a functional layout that looks similar to a traditional scorecard. However the parts of the scorecard are marked like a National Lottery card, which is read by an electronic card reader, and all the hole by hole gross scores are transferred in approximately 1 second.
Staff time in processing competition results is vastly reduced and scoring errors eliminated. Stableford points (as well as many other competition formats) are automatically calculated by the computer and the scorecards are checked for errors.
As the Golf AutoScore scorecards
go through the mark reader, the software extracts out the hole by hole gross
scores and the player handicap, then calculates the scores for the selected
competition format. The results can be displayed on a leaderboard as soon
as the players hand in their scorecards off the 18th green in real time. The
club official whether it is the Golf Professional or the golf club shop attendant,
can feed the scorecards through the reader while attending to other tasks.
Alternative formats such as Shotgun Starts (sometimes known as Texas Scramble)
become easily manageable with this system.
Launching across Europe
A good part of Golf AutoScore 's development has involved maximising the system's integration with pre-existing systems for billing, membership and tournaments. The Golf AutoScore Lite product is available combined with existing golf club management software for example in the UK and Ireland with Club2000 (by Club Systems International Ltd) and DJB Handicapping.
