Golf AutoScore™ Lite automated scorecard system

Golf AutoScore™ Lite is a system integrated into or interfaced with existing Golf Club software that already provide golf club management functionality (e.g. Handicapping software). The Golf AutoScore™ Lite functions are to capture course and player information, print a customised Golf AutoScore™ scorecard, and once the golf round scores have been marked on the score card, to read all the round data from the golf scorecard, for scoring and handicapping purposes.

The Golf AutoScore™ automated scoring system meets the Royal and Ancient rules of Golf, by maintaining a paper scorecard with pen or pencil marking.

The Golf AutoScore™ Lite product is available combined with existing golf club management software. For example in the UK and Ireland; Club2000 (by Club Systems International Ltd.) and DJB Handicapping.

Golf AutoScore scorecard printing

The Golf AutoScore™ scorecard keeps with the tradition of a conventional card but adds the advantage of automatically printing player's personal information such as his/her name, membership number, handicap and course rating on the scorecard.

Courses undergoing hole renovations will find further advantage. As the scorecards are printed on site and on demand, information printed on the scorecard can be altered at any time to ensure information is always accurate. This removes the need to print small and expensive card runs to accommodate such temporary renovations.

Scorecard technology & mark reader

The Golf AutoScore™ scorecard is marked by the golfer like a traditional scorecard, but in addition, strokes are marked on a 'lotto' style panel for each of the 18 holes. At the completion of the round the scorecard is fed into a Mark Reader and the gross hole by hole scoring information is recorded in approximately 1 second.

The Mark Reader technology has been around for many years. The Chatsworth Mark Reader manufactured in the USA is a commercial quality unit that is used by many organisations in the gaming industry. The Reader has the ability to read tens of thousands of cards a month as is seen in the Lotto environment. In a golf club environment the usage is relatively light in comparison allowing the reader a very long life span.

Golf Autoscore™ Tournament Management System

Golf Autoscore™ Tournament Management System is a full tournament management system providing a Competition System, a Draw Generator, PGA style Leaderboard and a Data Management System.

The Tournament Management System also includes all the functionality of the Golf AutoScore™ Lite system, providing a scorecard printing system, and a scorecard processing system. The data management system captures all information required for handicapping. The Golf AutoScore™ Tournament Management System does not process the round data to provide player updated handicaps to USGA or CONGU handicapping rules.

Competition system
The Competition module provides the ability to configure competitions that can cover one to many days with multiple rounds, formats, courses and player categories included. When a competition has been entered, all score cards processed that meet the competition criteria will be displayed on the Leaderboard.

Draw Generator
A sophisticated draw generator providing the ability to automatically create draws for tournaments. This option also allows you to print starting tees and times on the scorecard. The draw generator provides you with the ability to automatically place participants into initial draws sorting either alphabetically, by handicap, or randomly. To generate additional draws (e.g. 2nd round draw) the user can utilise patterns such as the reverse U and N draw.

In addition, the draw generator can automatically produce seeded draws using previous competition results. For example; generate a seeded 3rd round draw (leading players tee off last) after the first two rounds have been completed.

Real-time PGA Style Leaderboard
This feature allows you to display multiple competition results on a PGA style Leaderboard, providing great entertainment value for players. Competition results are constantly updated in real time as the scorecards are processed and are displayed automatically in count-back order. Advertising can also be displayed on the Leaderboard. A sponsor's page can be inserted in-between competition results or alternatively sponsors logo's can be displayed continuously as a header or footer. At the end of the final round printed reports are instantly available of the final competition results.

Data Management System

The Data Management module provides golf clubs with the ability to manage all the day to day requirements for handicapping. Features:

Basic member management (view, add, change, delete member details)
Course management (view, add, change, delete course details)
Round management (view, change, delete entered rounds)
Manual round entry management (hole by hole and summary rounds)
System Management (configuration, backups, restore)

The data management system captures all information required for handicapping. Data Management System does not process the round data to provide player updated handicaps.
